Understanding wellbeing in Barossa
As the Wellbeing Project moves from listening to action, this page will grow with it.
Over time you will find updated community data, outcomes from the Wellbeing and Inclusion Strategy, and progress from the Lifespan Action Groups and Wellbeing Alliance.

We measure wellbeing using the Community Capitals Framework, looking beyond health data to the strength of our social, cultural, human, built, natural, and economic capital. As that measurement work matures, findings will be shared here in plain language, for the whole community to see.

What the community told us
In 2024, 862 Barossa residents shared their priorities for health and wellbeing, telling us what matters most. Their voices are directly shaping the Barossa Wellbeing & Inclusion Plan 2026-2031. This feedback isn’t just data. It’s a mandate for action. The Wellbeing Project will help turn these priorities into real outcomes.

Good decisions start with data. But measuring wellbeing isn’t just about statistics … it’s about listening to real people and understanding what life is like in the Barossa.
We use a combination of community feedback, local health data, regional research and local insights to understand our community and identify where support is needed most.
By understanding the needs of our community we can direct resources and focus more effectively, advocate for the right services and plan for the future. It’ all part of our vision to create a healthy, connected and resilient community.
