Barossa Wellbeing Hub

The Community Asset Directory is a free publicly accessible map of community assets across the Barossa region, the people, places, groups, services and programs that contribute to wellbeing. It is a living map of what helps people in the Barossa stay happy healthy and connected. The key question: Would a Barossa resident benefit from knowing this exists, and does it genuinely contribute to their health, wellbeing or connection? If yes — it belongs.

To be listed in the Community Asset Directory, an asset must meet the following criteria:   1. Located in or primarily serving the Barossa region The asset is based in the Barossa Council area or is directly accessible to and primarily serving Barossa residents. 2. Contributes to community wellbeing The asset demonstrably supports one or more of the four strategic priorities of the Barossa Wellbeing & Inclusion Plan: •     Healthy, Active Lifestyles •     Safe, Inclusive & Welcoming Spaces •     Belonging, Connection & Participation •     Learning, Creativity & Purposeful Contribution 3. Is community-facing and accessible The asset is open to community members to access, use or participate in. 4. Is a legitimate, currently operating entity The asset is currently active and operating. Dissolved organisations, inactive groups or one-off events are not eligible for a permanent listing. Types of Assets that are eligible  • Community groups, clubs and associations (sporting clubs, craft groups, men’s sheds, garden clubs, neighbourhood groups) •  Walking trails, parks, playgrounds and outdoor recreation spaces •  Health and wellbeing services (GPs, allied health, mental health, alcohol and drug support, disability services) •  Community support services (food relief, emergency support, financial counselling) • Early childhood, youth and aged care services and programs • Cultural, arts and creative programs and organisations • Education and lifelong learning programs (libraries, TAFE, community education) • Faith communities and spiritual support organisations • Volunteer organisations and programs • Government services directly relevant to community wellbeing Types of Assets that are not eligible • Private commercial businesses without a specific, accessible community wellbeing function • National chains or franchises without a specific local Barossa presence or program • Political parties or campaign organisations • Organisations under investigation or subject to regulatory action • Assets that have ceased operating Discretionary Decisions Some assets will sit in grey areas. The Council Wellbeing team applies the following test: Decisions can be appealed by emailing wellbeing@barossa.sa.gov.au

If your organisation, group or community space contributes to health, wellbeing or connection in the Barossa you may be eligible to be listed. Submit your request Email wellbeing@barossa.sa.gov.au to request a listing. Tell us the name of your organisation, group or space and a brief description of what you offer. We’ll send you a listing link to complete the form. Complete the listing form The form asks for: Name Contact Person and Title Phone Email Website Address (If your address is Out of region, please choose the district closest to your address. EG: Gawler, Select Lyndoch – Kalbeeba) If your address is No fixed address or in Adelaide, please select Nuriootpa – Stockwell as the default district.) District Asset Category Thematic Category Overview / Mission Statement: A brief description (2–3 sentences) Age ranges serviced Level of involvement with The Barossa Council Consent to share information Your submission is reviewed The Council Community Development team reviews your submission against the listing criteria within 3 business days. We may contact you if we need more information. Your listing goes live If approved, your listing will automatically appear on the Community Asset Directory. We’ll send you a link so you can see your listing live. If not approved, we will notify you. Please contact us at wellbeing@barossa.sa.gov.au if you’d like to discuss it further. NB: If you have indicated you do not consent to your details being shared publicly, Barossa Council Staff will be able to see your details, but they will not be published on the Community Asset Directory.

The Community Asset Directory is only valuable if it is accurate. If your details change — new address, new phone number, new program, new contact person — re-submit your details and they will be updated within 3 business days. You can update your listing at any time using the original link provided and your Unique Asset ID Number. If you haven’t been sent your Asset ID Number, please reach out at wellbeing@barossa.sa.gov.au .   Open the form using the link Enter your Asset Number: XX in the first question — this links your submission to your existing record Complete the form with your updated details Indicate whether you consent to your details being shared publicly on the Community Asset Directory (If you do not consent, Barossa Council Staff will be able to see your details, but they will not be published online.) Submit the form NB: Every twelve months, we’ll contact you via email to verify your details are still current.

The Community Asset Directory is only valuable if it is accurate. Every twelve months, we’ll contact all listings via email to verify your details are still current. Pre-review check Before each review, the Wellbeing team will do a quick check of all current listings to remove any obvious issues — things like duplicates, closed organisations, or outdated contact details. Review link sent A review email is then sent to your nominated contact, including an overview of your current details, a link to submit any changes and the 3-week response deadline. Response window opens You have three weeks to review your details and submit any changes through the link provided. Response window closes Approved updates are applied to the directory. A non-response is treated as confirmation that your listing is current, and no changes will be made. Review process complete After updates are complete, the Wellbeing team record the date of review and note any significant changes for our internal records. Between review cycles: Listings can be updated at any time using the original link provided and the Unique Asset ID Number. If you haven't received your Asset ID Number, please reach out at wellbeing@barossa.sa.gov.au .

A listing will be removed from the directory if: • The asset requests removal - Requests can be sent to wellbeing@barossa.sa.gov.au • The asset is found to have ceased operating • The listing no longer meets the eligibility criteria • The listing has been the subject of a community complaint that is upheld by the Wellbeing team   Assets will be notified where possible before their listing is removed. Removal decisions can be appealed by emailing wellbeing@barossa.sa.gov.au.
